Part 8/14:
Throughout the series, Riri Williams remains stubbornly unlikable—a bratty, irresponsible, and inconsistent character. Her moral ambiguity is never convincingly explored, instead relying heavily on dialogue about social justice and intersectionality, often delivered with dramatic pauses and heavy-handed messaging. Character moments that could have shown growth are bogged down by preachy speeches and forced diversity scenes.
Her interactions with her AI best friend, Natalie, are often cringeworthy, serving as vehicles for ideological sermons rather than genuine character development. Similarly, her relationships with her family, especially her stepfather Gary, are shallow and serve little purpose beyond expositing social messages.
