Part 11/13:
When juxtaposed, the recent Superman film, directed by James Gunn, offers a more character-driven and action-packed experience, with a stellar cast and a more straightforward narrative. Conversely, First Steps at times feels slow but occasionally taps into genuine emotional beats. Ultimately, the Superman film boasts a better cast and more compelling action scenes, though Fantastic 4 is deemed more earnest and focused on core themes of family and teamwork.
Opinion from a comic book fan: The Fantastic 4 film, despite its flaws—particularly casting and political statements—was a refreshing attempt at respecting source material. It’s arguably the most serious Marvel film since Endgame, elevating its story amidst a series of commercial failures.
