Part 6/12:
Poor Characterization and Visuals
Matilda Lutz does her best to embody the iconic Red Sonja, but the film strips her of her signature metal bikini and scantily clad demeanor, replacing it with a metal skirt—an unnecessary downgrade. The script, penned by Tasha Huo, is laden with modern moralism, including a misguided focus on environmentalism, gender politics, and modern partnerships, eroding what made the original character compelling: her badassery, independence, and raw brutality.
