The series had a lot riding on it. Expectations were high, especially given the original Netflix show’s reputation for mature storytelling and faithful comic book adaptation. Fans hoped that Disney Marvel would honor its roots, perhaps even reconnecting the character with the darker, more nuanced portrayal from Netflix, which remains arguably the best live-action adaptation of Daredevil.

The Series Fizzles Out: From Promising Start to Broken Promises

Initially, the show seemed to promise a return to form, touching on the Born Again storyline from the comics, which follows Matt Murdock's descent and eventual resurgence. Yet, the finale, titled Straight to Hell, perfectly encapsulates the overall decline—the series' trajectory echoes a descent into chaos and mediocrity.
