Part 8/12:
Despite its flaws, Thunderbolts boasts some notable performances. Lewis Pullman as Robert Reynolds—the maniacal yet sympathetic Century—is the film’s standout. His portrayal of a troubled superhuman with a split personality could have been the centerpiece of the movie, but instead, his potential is squandered amid cluttered plotting.
David Harbour's Red Guardian delivers some of the film’s most heartfelt moments, especially his scene with his daughter Lena (Yelena). Wyatt Russell’s John Walker remains one of the more compelling characters, despite the film’s overall struggles, thanks to his nuanced performance. Bucky Barnes also shines in moments of genuine heroism, which fans have long hoped to see more of from Marvel.
