Comparing Thunderbolts to Suicide Squad—Unfair or Not?
There has been a common comparison between Thunderbolts and Suicide Squad, implying that Marvel’s film is an imitation—or a poor imitation—of DC’s ensemble villain team. While the analogy isn't perfect, the film seems to mirror the Suicide Squad’s concept: a ragtag group of misunderstood antiheroes forced into a dangerous mission.
Yet, Thunderbolts fails to capture the compelling chaos and character depth that made Suicide Squad intriguing. Instead, it culminates in two major action set pieces and an obligatory group hug that feels more like a placeholder for character development than a meaningful resolution.
