Part 2/8:
William Shatner, 92 years old and still vocal as ever, has become a prominent critic of how Paramount has handled Star Trek, especially with regard to the character of Kirk. Over the years, he has openly expressed his discontent with the studio’s apparent efforts to distance itself from the original series and his portrayal of Kirk.
Most recently, Shatner took to social media to call out what he perceives as an intentional effort by Paramount to forget the character's significance. During a discussion on X (formerly Twitter), after a fan asked whether viewers might see Captain Kirk again, Shatner responded with blunt honesty. He pointed out a notable omission from a brand publicity graphic celebrating Star Trek's past — Captain Kirk was nowhere to be seen.
