Politicians over the years have consistently failed to implement effective controls, often promising reductions that were never realized. In fact, each government—from Cameron to May, Johnson, Truss, and Sunak—has been accused of either being weak or deliberately ineffective. Spin and false promises, like the promise to reduce net migration to tens of thousands, have proven hollow.
