Throughout the interview, Lucas reflected on his decision to relinquish control of Star Wars to Disney. He explained that after selling the franchise, he chose not to be directly involved anymore because he realized it would take another decade to make new films, and he was already in his late sixties.
In his words, "I just didn't want to be making those films when I'd be 79." He described how, upon selling the franchise, many of his ideas for the stories and characters — especially concerning the Force — were lost or reshaped by Disney’s creative team.
