The hosts agreed that New York sports culture is characterized by having multiple teams across every sport. Unlike Boston, where fans tend to rally around one team, New Yorkers often support several, which creates a unique, diverse sports environment. There’s a sense of pride in the city’s ability to host multiple teams, from two hockey teams (Rangers and Islanders) to two football teams (Jets and Giants), as well as multiple basketball and baseball squads.
