Driven by this gravitational pull, Andy pursued the Navy aggressively, enlisting as a junior in high school to begin the pipeline toward BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training). His journey was marked by meticulous preparation—approaching training with a relentless focus on mastery and currency across diverse skills like navigation, marksmanship, and communication.

Entering the SEAL community, Andy quickly realized the sheer volume of knowledge required was overwhelming. He describes the environment as a relentless "multi-trade" mastery, where each deployment, training cycle, and mission demanded rapid adaptation and mastery of different skill sets. The realization that you’re a "jack of all trades, master of none" — constantly shifting focus — was a profound wake-up call.
