Part 4/12:
As the internet grew saturated with content, the landscape changed dramatically. Everyone now has access to a camera, and uploading short films became easier than ever. However, the volume of content skyrocketed, making it increasingly difficult for individual films to stand out. The initial advantage of Vimeo’s curated platform diminished, and most shorts now go unnoticed despite the effort.
This rise in quantity resulted in a crucial problem: short films lose their visibility and, consequently, their ability to serve as effective calling cards. The core utility—showing producers and investors a filmmaker’s talent—becomes less effective unless the short is tied to a larger project.
