Garrett Wilson, a key receiver on the Jets, was visibly upset, and post-game comments revealed that Jets' coach Aaron Glenn explained the decision as a strategic move due to uncertainty about their first-down situation and lack of timeouts. Glenn indicated that they were wary of risking a bad play or giving the Broncos an opportunity to score. However, the decision to not attempt a Hail Mary or at least throw the ball into the end zone left many scratching their heads, especially given the momentum of the game and their proximity to scoring before time expired.
