Faced with the shocking reality of job termination, the young man returned, wounded and bewildered, to seek guidance from his mentor. “Why did I lose my job?” he exclaimed, grappling with feelings of betrayal after having adhered so diligently to his mentor’s advice. The mentor revealed a crucial truth: the young man had heard only half of the lesson. He understood the need to become noticeable by stepping back but failed to grasp the deeper ramifications of doing so. “A light bulb that is always on goes unnoticed, but if it frequently goes off, it risks being replaced for inconsistency,” the mentor explained.
