Gift recipients sometimes face a challenge if they don't have a Costco membership. This allows the returns employee to locate the purchase history and streamline the refund process. If a member gifts an item to someone without a membership, that person will receive a gift card equating to the item's purchase price. This gift card enables them to shop at Costco without needing a membership.
