Georgia has become synonymous with college football excellence over the last three years, losing only two games, both to Alabama. The Bulldogs have claimed back-to-back national championships, including a stunning 65–7 victory over TCU in one of the most lopsided championship games in recent history. Nevertheless, a loss to Alabama this season resulted in Georgia falling to the sixth seed in the playoffs, leading many to question their motivation for the Orange Bowl.
Despite the setback, Georgia made it clear that their ambition was still in full bloom, and a victory over Florida State could serve to bolster their standing and defense against the committee's decision to exclude them from the playoffs.
