As the clock wound down, it became evident that UNLV’s strategy and execution were more consistent throughout the match. Despite a late-game surge from Cal that demonstrated their resilience, it was not enough to overturn the deficit. As the final whistle blew, UNLV celebrated their hard-fought victory, one that was characterized by effective play-calling, solid execution, and an unyielding defense.
In terms of accolades beyond the scoreboard, UNLV’s players and coaching staff were lauded for their impressive performances throughout the season, particularly with Mike Shearer leading the team through tumultuous transitions at the coaching level.
