The power to pardon is one of the most extraordinary authorities granted to the President of the United States. Recently, President Joe Biden has exercised this power by issuing a full and unconditional pardon to his son, Hunter Biden, for any offenses committed or participated in between January 1, 2014, and December 1, 2024. This raises several questions: why not extend the pardon for a longer duration, possibly encompassing past and future crimes? Is such an expansive pardon even feasible?
