Celebrated annually on February 15, this festival honored the legendary twins Romulus and Remus and their connection to the she-wolf who nurtured them. The apex of the festivities was centered around a cave known as Lupercal, nestled at the base of the Palatine Hill, where Romulus would later lay the foundations of the great city of Rome.
