Interestingly, it was Russia, at the heart of this discord, that convened the emergency meeting. Ambassador Vaselina Benia articulated the understanding that the situation in Syria must be closely monitored as it unfolds. This sudden shift, initiated by Russia, signals a potential willingness among Council members to reevaluate their stance and work towards a concerted approach.
