In the year 1200 of the Second Age, Sauron—under the name Annatar—presented himself as an emissary of the Valar, captivating the Elves with his ethereal beauty. He manipulated their noble intentions, proposing that through collaboration, they could cultivate Middle-earth to resemble the immortal lands of Valinor. His rhetoric struck a chord, inciting the Elves to embark on an ambitious project: the forging of magical rings to halt their decline and enhance their powers.
