The power of the One Ring stems from its ability to manipulate the desires of its wearer and those around them. The Ring presents itself as a means to achieve one’s deepest wishes. Take Boromir, for instance; his innate desire to defend Gondor becomes corrupted by the Ring's allure, leading him to betray Frodo in pursuit of it. Such are the lies spun by Sauron, the true master of the Ring. Throughout the story, it becomes clear that the Ring is capable of deceiving not just mortals but even the immortal, as shown with Galadriel.
