Eladan and Elrohir, born in the Third Age, had a formidable lineage; they are descendants of one of the most important elven bloodlines. Their primary responsibility was to patrol the borders of Rivendell and confront any incursions by orcs. Their hatred for these creatures was heightened dramatically after their mother was captured and tortured during an orc ambush. This traumatic event pushed them to develop an aggressive pursuit against the orc menace, particularly due to their close ties with Arathorn, Aragorn's father.
