Returning to the hypothetical battle, Isaac asserted that the Saruman who had not yet fallen to corruption would indeed have the potential to defeat the Balrog, primarily via his most powerful asset: his voice. Even after depleting his magical abilities, Saruman retained a commanding presence. He had previously manipulated the ancient Ent, Treebeard, to release him from Isengard, demonstrating his lasting influence.
Isaac’s hypothesis continued, suggesting that if Saruman faced the Balrog, using the phrase, “I am a servant of the Secret Fire,” could easily intimidate the creature. In such circumstances, he believed the Balrog would flee in terror, similar to what Gandalf attempted against it.
