However, the darker side of this influence manifests in the form of “digital militias.” These groups capitalize on their following to both protect and attack individuals or entities, creating an environment rife with misinformation and hostility. Instead of engaging constructively, many influencers choose to leverage their power against those they perceive as enemies, propagating division rather than promoting understanding.
