The club insisted on a cash payment for the sale, with the intention of addressing immediate financial needs. The previous management, led by Rodolfo Landim, had outlined a project that anticipated revenue of R$150 million from selling 1,000 premium seats, which was considered integral to recouping funds expended on the acquisition of new land for stadium expansion.
