Though Dallas managed to add a field goal, Bakers Mayfield and the Buccaneers pulled off some impressive plays. Mayfield connected with rookie Bucky Irving for a touchdown, making it 10-7. As the first half neared its conclusion, Dallas maintained their edge with a series of well-executed plays, including a 52-yard reception by CeeDee Lamb and a 1-yard touchdown run from Ezekiel Elliott, expanding their lead to 14-7.
A late field goal by Dallas put them in control at 23-14, establishing a solid nine-point lead as the teams went into the locker room.
