As Simone seeks solace with her brother, Rasmus explains that a dog had licked Beatrice, and his attachment to her leads him to refuse Simone's pleas for him to leave the lab. Perseverance begins to wear thin, and eventually, Simone and Leah turn their attention back to the looming threat outside. Meanwhile, a tense flashback shows a group of strangers in a quarantine facility—led by Sten from Apollon—who inform them about a deadly virus capable of instant death.
