Part 2/8:

As the story unfolds, we learn of Philip’s friend Todd, who recently confessed his love to Melissa, only to be met with a lukewarm "thank you” in response. Todd's disappointment sets the comic tone for Philip, who is secretly relieved that his day is faring better than Todd's romantic misstep. However, this relief is short-lived. Todd’s mention of their arrival in Tucson due to Philip's "move to Tampa" sign sparks concern in Philip. He realizes that if more men enter the scene, coupled with the possibility of Gail exploring her options, he could be left alone.
