In a frantic attempt to retrieve the snow globe, David finds himself in peril as the ice breaks beneath him. Instead of drowning, he experiences a surreal twist of fate: he teleports to a library, perplexed yet relieved to be alive. This marks the beginning of David's discovery of his newfound ability to teleport. As he grapples with the implications of this power, we learn of his troubled past—abandoned by his mother and abused by his father, William. David locks himself away, fearing confrontation with his father, who becomes enraged upon discovering David’s drenched state.
