Dr. Grant, desperate to recruit the once-mighty Captain Zoom, found him living a quiet life. After some persuasion—and a threat of force—Zoom reluctantly accepted to train a new generation of heroes. This group included exceptional youngsters like Cindy, who possessed incredible super strength; Dylan, who could turn invisible; Summer, who wielded telekinesis; and Tucker, who had elastic abilities. Their selection and training commenced under Zoom's guidance, although he was resistant and skeptical about the very notion of heroism, asserting that they weren't real superheroes.
