The plot thickens as Joe unwittingly becomes embroiled in a scheme involving a pair of ruthless criminals, Vladimir and Jesus. Their nefarious actions escalate as they lay traps to clear out tenants, setting up a backdrop that juxtaposes Joe's innocent intentions with the dark underbelly of city life.

Miraculously, Joe inherits an apartment when a resident unexpectedly "falls" prey to the criminals' antics. The dingy space is neglected and food-scarce, yet, amid this disorder, Joe discovers an astonishing truth: he is not alone.
