As the group assembles decades later, their reunion is fraught with hesitation and fear. Stan is particularly affected, struggling with the weight of their childhood memories. Their initial attempts to confront Pennywise lead to a realization that the clown has resurged in more sinister forms. Through their frequent encounters with Pennywise, they begin to break through the layers of trauma that shroud their memory.
Meanwhile, the clown continues its terrifying games, torturing the friends with visions from their past, which serve as a reminder of the struggles they faced as children and the reasons they had to fight back.
