The backstory of Apocalypse sets the stage: in 3600 BC, he becomes the Pharaoh of ancient Egypt, imposing his immense powers upon the populace. As he ages, he seeks to transfer his consciousness into a more youthful body with superior regenerative abilities. Yet, during this crucial moment, a rebellion leads to a catastrophic event that buries him under tons of rock, seemingly sealing his fate for over 5,500 years.

Fast forward to 1983, where the film introduces a young Scott Summers (Cyclops). In a school bathroom, due to an uncontrollable surge of his powers, he accidentally blasts a bully with energy. This incident leads his family to seek help at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, where Professor Charles Xavier recognizes Scott's potential and enlists him as a student.
