One fateful night, Spider-Man confronts a gang pressuring an ATM and discovers they wield alien technology derived from Toms' weapons. In the ensuing chaos, he focuses on saving civilians, notably Mr. Delmare from a diner that is caught in the crossfire. Frustrated by the criminals' getaway, he returns home where he unexpectedly runs into Ned, his best friend, who discovers Peter's secret identity after overhearing a conversation. To keep the secret intact, Peter asks Ned to refrain from telling anyone and later navigates the complexities of high school crushes, including his own feelings for Liz Allen.
