Part 2/8:
The story begins on an Indian reservation in the United States, where a girl named Donny wakes up to the terrifying sound of explosions. Her frantic father rushes in, and they flee the flaming chaos ravaging their community. Unfortunately, the father sacrifices his safety to aid fellow villagers, only to be brutally killed before Donny's eyes. Traumatized and frightened, Donny runs into the forest, where she falls down a hill and loses consciousness.
When she awakens, Donny finds herself in a hospital bed, handcuffed. A doctor named Dr. Rees claims she is the sole survivor of a tornado—a narrative that seems false. Under the pretense of helping her, Dr. Rees informs Donny that they must determine the extent of her mutant abilities.
