As Mike settles into his role, he and Abby encounter the animatronics firsthand. Initially designed for entertainment, these seemingly harmless robots turn out to be host to the spirits of the missing children from decades past. Abby befriends the animatronics, even after they inadvertently put her in danger. Meanwhile, Mike is haunted by more than just the unsettling dreams; he discovers that the animatronics are dangerous, predatory entities with a mind of their own.

Notably, the police officer Vanessa enters the narrative as a pivotal character who connects Mike to the past of the pizzeria. Vanessa reveals the horrifying truth—that her father, William Afton, is the man behind the disappearance of those children and that he has managed to trap their souls within the animatronics.
