The film opens at the tranquil Jade Palace, where Master Shifu is training his elite students known as the Furious Five. Amidst the training, a messenger named Zung arrives with grave news—the escape of Tai Lung, a former disciple of Shifu, who has been imprisoned for two decades. A foreboding vision from Master Oogway suggests that preparation is needed to face the approaching danger. Oogway stresses the importance of choosing a worthy successor to receive the Dragon Scroll, a mystical object that holds the key to ultimate power.
