She recounts the tale of a mysterious old man who shares a legend from World War II. The villagers of a neighboring town had united against a battalion of ruthless German soldiers, leading to the demise of many. Yet, a feared colonel and his remaining troops managed to escape into the mountains, vanishing without a trace. Whispers of their return—reanimated as vengeful zombies—set the stage for the horror that is to come.
