Despite the passage of decades, Morpheus remains unresponsive, bound in chains that reflect both his physical captivity and his internal struggle against the insatiable desires of mortals. Eventually, Magus's actions lead to familial turmoil and tragedy, further complicating the narrative. His second son, Alex, discovers Morpheus and, drawn into the web of his father's ambitions, is coerced into killing Morpheus's beloved raven.
