As Jake becomes familiar with the procedures surrounding the avatar program, it becomes clear that the underlying mission is far more sinister. The true purpose behind their presence on Pandora involves mining for a rare rock called unobtainium, worth billions on Earth, located under the sacred land of the Na'vi. Jake is tasked with convincing the Na'vi to abandon their home before the military takes forceful action.
