The turning point of TS’s journey comes with an unexpected phone call from the Smithsonian Institution, announcing he has won a prestigious prize for his blueprint of a magnetically-run perpetual motion wheel. However, the museum director, Miss Gibson, erroneously believes TS is an adult inquiring about his son. This misunderstanding sparks an internal conflict in TS as he contemplates traveling to Washington D.C. to accept the award, knowing that leaving home could spark further troubles with his father.
