Trials at Sea and Rescues

The escapade culminates in a harrowing boat ride filled with conflict, storms, and betrayal, as one of their companions, Celia, attempts to seize control. As they escape tumultuous waters, Papillon and Dega find themselves rescued on an island in Colombia, but the peace is fleeting as they are ultimately betrayed by the local authorities, returning them to prison once more.

A Long Road to Freedom

Five years pass, and Papillon emerges from solitary confinement only to face the notorious Devil's Island, where he reunites with Dega. Despite their friendship surviving the harshest of circumstances, Dega is weary of their past life and desires peace. Nevertheless, the desire for freedom still burns within Papillon, leading to plans for another escape.
