Nicole lives a fairly standard teenage life with her father Steve, stepmother Laura, and younger brother Toby. Her daily routine includes school, laughter with her best friend Margot, and the occasional secrets shared about crushes and romantic dreams. However, an unexpected turn of events sees her father receive an urgent work call, prompting a family night out to be canceled. Feeling hurt by his abrupt departure, Nicole decides to take a chance and accompany Margot to the club after all.
