The M4 chip shows notable performance improvements, especially compared to previous iterations. However, for users considering gaming, the standard M4 is more suited for casual gaming rather than serious titles. Testing with the built-in benchmark of Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1440p and high graphics quality yielded only around 30 frames per second. Dropping the settings to 1080p and medium quality yielded better performance, but the gaming experience remains limited by Mac OS's sparse game library, which tends to cater more to indie and mobile-friendly titles.
