Part 5/10:
In 1997, after thirty-five years of seclusion, the bunker doors finally opened. Calvin, adorned in a radiation suit, cautiously ventured outside, only to be met with the stark reality of a post-apocalyptic world — a landscape of graffiti, armed individuals, and societal decay. Frightened by unfamiliarity, Calvin raced back inside, adamant that they forget the outside world. Tensions flared between him and Helen, who yearned for Adam to experience life beyond the bunker.
When Calvin suffered a heart attack due to stress, Helen saw the pressing necessity for Adam to go outside and procure food. Armed with cash and a list, Adam embarked on an adventure that would introduce him to the world he had only known through his parents’ stories.
