It utilizes specialized sensory organs to correctly orient itself toward the host, ensuring that it can effectively attach. Upon contact, the face hugger employs a paralytic compound that makes the host submissive, allowing it to latch onto the host's face. It then introduces a mutagenic substance known as plagiar prepotent into the host's digestive system, manipulating the host's biology to facilitate the xenomorph's development.
