The following months saw significant troop reorganization for both the Ukrainian and Russian forces. The Ukrainians bolstered their frontline defenses with several battalions, including the 126th Territorial Defense Brigade. In contrast, Russian forces struggled with heavy losses that left many of their divisions crippled and combat-ineffective, burdening the "Dnepr" Grouping with insufficient manpower for both offensive and defensive actions.
Despite the losses, both sides maintained elite commando units for sabotage and reconnaissance missions across the Dnipro. Ukraine leveraged high-quality drone intel to plan surgical strikes, while Russia attempted to maintain heavyweight firepower with less sophisticated, more traditional tactics.
