When the last Russian forces retreated across the Dnipro, the damaged infrastructure, including the Antonivka Bridge and bridges on the Kakhovka Dam, severely limited troop movements for both sides. The river’s width of approximately 300 meters made large-scale troop crossings nearly impossible without detection by reconnaissance drones. As the frontlines stabilized, the focus shifted eastward, yet, this seeming lull became fertile ground for surprise assaults.
