I totally get it!!!
I also never settle on one conclusion, so if I debated other people, I would say to them "You're right about that" a lot, and I don't think that makes a good debate.
I actually love saying, "A question that only has one answer is boring."
I wish we had another word for a discussion where both sides try to find as much good with the other persons perspective as possible, and keep it, while they drop the contradictions and weak parts.
Among public figures, there are people I vehemently disagree with but you'll find me praising them for certain things sometimes. I try to focus on the good points at least more than the bad points. And there's always way more than people want to admit.
Yeah, it's sad when most people have "If I hate you, I'll hate everything you do/say" mentality. I mean, even the Devil can be correct sometimes.
People are scared that if they acknowledge the good that someone bad does that we will encourage people to overlook the bad they do.
But I think we should focus more on actual behavior rather than the people themselves cause people are all complex creatures!
This is true, we often fail to find common grounds on many issues and to see the good in other people's perspective.
